Ah... I seem to have gotten a handle on this device... I think...

[Ioder peers closely at the SFC in his hand, head tilting slightly to the side thoughtfully. For all his confusion, he looks slightly bemused. His first couple of weeks in Vatheon have been... interesting, to say the least.]

My cousin, Estellise, informed me that I should make an introduction here. My name is Ioder and-- I've never kissed anyone, not in the 18 years I've been alive--

[The bemused expression is gone in a flash, replaced by wide green eyes and hands over his mouth, voice coming out muffled behind them]

O... oh... so this is that curse-- Sometimes when I'm alone, I sing silly songs to myself to pass the time, because days in the palace were just that lonely--

[His hands clench tighter, eyes closing. Eventually he manages enough composure to reach forward...]

Perhaps I should do this another time...

[and turn the device off before it gets any worse]

My mother always cooked it for me...

I've never had that... it sounds wonderful, though. I'd love to try it some time.

I would have to say mine is probably... beef stew. It was always nice to have on a cold day.

I wish I could cook it... But even if I did, it'd probably never taste as good as the one Mother cooked...

_{[He smiles happily.]}

But beef stew also sounds great.

Clearly we'll just have to find some one who can cook well and ask them to make it!

_{[it's not like he's a bad cook actually. But mom's cooking the best and nothing could ever match with it.]}

Ah, but I don't think I know the recipe...

_{[thinking about this... He really feels homesick now.]}

[Of course not. Ioder can't imagine much would compare to a mother's cooking, not that he really knows that himself.

And he would give Ruca a hug if he was there right then. And knew that.]

It's always possible. There's so many different people here... some one is bound to know something like that.

It still wouldn't taste like Mother's...

[and it's not really the cooking he's missing; he just misses his home, his parents. He haven't seen them for such a long time... Ever since he had to run away from home, he's seen them only once and he couldn't even talk to them.]}

Oh, I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to complain...

[Ioder gives him a sympathetic and very understanding look]

It's quite alright. I wouldn't consider it complaining at all. You miss her, don't you?

Yes... I miss her a lot. And I miss my father, too.

_{[another sigh.]}

I hope they're okay...

I'm sure they miss you as well.

[unfortunately he can't say much for the 'hope they're okay' part. He doesn't know that any more than Ruca does.]

_{[that one time Ruca saw his parents again, he also realized just how much they cared for him. Remembering that, the boy smiled a little.

Yes, his parents surely were safe in Regnum, waiting for him to come back. And he is going to come back to them. He'll defeat Mathias and definitely return home afterwards. And then he'll become a doctor and make his parents proud.]}

I just hope they don't worry about me too much. I don't want them to worry. I wish I could at least tell them why I ran away from home.

_{[oh hello there curse. he almost forgot about you.]}

I... I can't go back home. If I do, I'll get arrested. _{[he blinks, then almost panicking:]} Ah, n-no! It's not what you think! I got in trouble because I wanted to save someone from getting kidnapped!

Oh... [worried frown] Sadly, sometimes even the most noble of actions are punished... I'm sorry you had to go through that.

I pardoned a known criminal for his crimes because he did more for our world than I ever could.

... what... I mean to say is, I wish I could help you back in your home...

You... pardoned him? _{[wait a moment. does that mean you are a noble... a royalty maybe or something like that?]}

Ah, but you don't have to worry about that. What I did isn't exactly the main reason why they want to arrest me.

_{[he covers his mouth with his hands.]}

...T-that... wasn't... Um, j-just don't worry about me. E-evertyhing will be okay... one day.

[That he is. But Ruca would have to pry a little more to get him to admit it out loud right now.]

... might I ask what the main reason was?

_{[Ruca is not the one to do that. If Ioder doesn't want to admit that, then Ruca won't ask.]}

...I... I'm sorry. I can't tell you.

_{[he's feeling bad right now. But he can't say he's an Avatar and everyone are afraid of them, because of their powers. No, he'd rather avoid talking about it at all cost.]}

[Well, he's a little worried now, but he won't push the matter]

That's fine. I do hope you resolve things when you get back home...

I will.

_{[That's what he was trying to do before he got here. And maybe that's why those words sounds like he truly believes in them.]}

[offers him a sympathetic smile]
