[Someone finally caved and found an apartment. Holding the SFC, Tidus smiles a little distractedly.]

Check out my new place. I was getting bored with sleeping wherever I was. I don’t feel any different or more mature than I did before, at least not just in one day. I don’t think I would have felt any different if I hadn’t ended up in Spira…but I think that’s normal. Maybe. I’m not sure if it even counts.

[He shrugs.] It's an excuse to eat cake, so whatever.

[And he eats that piece of cake, talking between bites.]

What are your favorite things to do when you have time on your hands?

I usually like to build things. My specialty lies in robotics, but I have found myself delving into other areas.

Well, I tend to cook these days. Kinda boring doing it so often with nobody to eat it, but I was so proud when I got the recipe right I couldn't stop!

[Ai holds up some yakisoba to the screen]

Other than that, wandering about.

You build machina? What's the coolest thing you've ever built? Delving into new areas sounds like a good idea too. Were they things that always interested you or just sort of spontaneous?

Do you think or daydream while you wander?

I hit the Island for a swim. [Pause as he thought it over.] Don't think people can get mature over night, man. It takes years or you have to really love doing homework. [Like Olette!]

Why are you talking about maturi- [Pause. Cake excuse and maturity.] Don't tell me it's your birthday.

Kinda hard not to daydream - we're in the bottom of the sea, after all. It's like being in a huge aquarium! I don't know about you, but those are pretty much only used for romantic dates where I come from.

[Ai shrugs]

Well, that depends on individual ideas of what is 'cool'. I enjoy almost all of my creations. Recently, however, I built a bracelet which also acts as a computer. It was a delicate process and rather challenging in some aspects. I'm rather proud of it.

I have always like creating things, so the leap from simple robots to, say, a building was more of a hop than anything. It also helps me be self sufficient, which is good in my homeworld.

Cookin', or readin' manga. Or hangin' with Maka, here at least.

I didn't feel any different when I got an apartment either. [shrugs] I was already livin' in a dorm back home anyway. I'unno if that makes me an adult either but I guess that's up to you to decide or whatever...

I've thought about that. Maybe I can sneak there...I have an idea! Wanna race? [He scratches the back of his head.] I don't know if homework has much to do with it. I've met studious people who were still immature.

[He pauses. Then starts poking the plate with his fork.] Maybe I just really like cake and feel mature.

I don't know about romantic dates. There were a lot of clubs, and the boardwalks and balconies could be romantic.

I think I agree with you though. It's easy to get lost in thought.

[Sweeet! A race!] So long as you're prepared to lose. [Rubs the tip of his nose as he flashed a grin.] Hm. Maybe it's random then? Or people can some times be mature.

[Totally doesn't believe you, man.] Uh-huh. Sure. We'll go with that for now.

It sounds small. [he blinks quizzically.] How does it work?

That is pretty useful. You could handle a lot of situations that way.

I've been a club once! Really noisy! Can't say I cared much for it - why not go somewhere where you can talk? I mean, guess the same thing's with movies - I'd only sit in the dark for two hours with someone if I just didn't give a damn about them.

Anyway, about maturity...

Why be in such a hurry to grow up? You've got your entire life ahead of you! you should just take things as they come!

I don't know if it has much to do with it. I had my own place too, for a while.

Well, the technological aspect is a bit difficult to explain and most do not have the patience for it I have found. To put it simply, the screen and keyboard are of a holographic nature, emitted from the design on the bracelet.

You're on! [His eyes narrow and he smirks, feeling competitive.] As long as you aim to win, even if you don't. It could be. Then again...I didn't always bother with homework.

We will because it's true. [He nods, going with it.]

I read. Or take my chocobo out.

Comics. Maka is my girlfriend.

Yeah, I'unno either... I used to think it was just gettin' a job and living on your own, but I guess it's not just that.

I'm not a fan of them either, but they were really popular back in Zanarkand. We had sphere theatres too, but it gets boring to sit still for that long.

I plan to. I think that's why old people end up so grumpy. They always try to take things too seriously and they rush to try and act a certain way, which is stupid.

That's so cool! And you thought of that and made it all on your own? Can I see?!

I'm sure you have a lot of romance stories you could recommend to me. ...What do you like to read, anyway?

I know a lot of idiots who did that too, so you're right. But I think it's part of it, at least.

This is true. And before they know it, they have too many regrets!

I just tell people to take it easy. As a Video Girl, I can't age, so as far as I know I'll never be older than 17.

[or 16, her product age. whatever. point is, she doesn't age because her standard playback time is only three months]
