Check out my new place. I was getting bored with sleeping wherever I was. I don’t feel any different or more mature than I did before, at least not just in one day. I don’t think I would have felt any different if I hadn’t ended up in Spira…but I think that’s normal. Maybe. I’m not sure if it even counts.

[He shrugs.] It's an excuse to eat cake, so whatever.

[And he eats that piece of cake, talking between bites.]

What are your favorite things to do when you have time on your hands?

I usually like to build things. My specialty lies in robotics, but I have found myself delving into other areas.

You build machina? What's the coolest thing you've ever built? Delving into new areas sounds like a good idea too. Were they things that always interested you or just sort of spontaneous?

Well, that depends on individual ideas of what is 'cool'. I enjoy almost all of my creations. Recently, however, I built a bracelet which also acts as a computer. It was a delicate process and rather challenging in some aspects. I'm rather proud of it.

I have always like creating things, so the leap from simple robots to, say, a building was more of a hop than anything. It also helps me be self sufficient, which is good in my homeworld.

Well, I tend to cook these days. Kinda boring doing it so often with nobody to eat it, but I was so proud when I got the recipe right I couldn't stop!

Kinda hard not to daydream - we're in the bottom of the sea, after all. It's like being in a huge aquarium! I don't know about you, but those are pretty much only used for romantic dates where I come from.

I hit the Island for a swim. [Pause as he thought it over.] Don't think people can get mature over night, man. It takes years or you have to really love doing homework. [Like Olette!]

Why are you talking about maturi- [Pause. Cake excuse and maturity.] Don't tell me it's your birthday.

I've thought about that. Maybe I can sneak there...I have an idea! Wanna race? [He scratches the back of his head.] I don't know if homework has much to do with it. I've met studious people who were still immature.

[He pauses. Then starts poking the plate with his fork.] Maybe I just really like cake and feel mature.

[Sweeet! A race!] So long as you're prepared to lose. [Rubs the tip of his nose as he flashed a grin.] Hm. Maybe it's random then? Or people can some times be mature.

[Totally doesn't believe you, man.] Uh-huh. Sure. We'll go with that for now.

I didn't feel any different when I got an apartment either. [shrugs] I was already livin' in a dorm back home anyway. I'unno if that makes me an adult either but I guess that's up to you to decide or whatever...

I don't know if it has much to do with it. I had my own place too, for a while.

Though he's had all the time in the world for in prison, he was still adapting to life outside--it was harder than he thought without a general idea as to what to actually do. His work was on hold, so what else could he do? He'd be the first to willingly admit he didn't fully understand this world, though he's been catching on piece by piece.
