1 ♐ Voice ♐ A brief check up
[Wow, Darkleer is actually communicating with the network on a whole for once instead of being a miserable hermit. Must be a special occasion. Does anyone know his wiggling day?]
Now then. Have we all cleansed ourselves of the mess and done whatever strange death rituals foreign species feel the need to do?
[Okay, maybe it is just Darkleer being a coldhearted dick. Eh.]
I believe we should focus on the more important matter here. I have seen discussions scattered throughout the network, but it would be best to have all our thoughts and speculations focused in one place on both the destruction of those so-called faeries and on the recent appearance of that Carol individual.
For those of you who are oblivious and prone to missing the obvious, things are changing in this place. It would be best to be prepared.
[Don't be fooled, he's not doing this to be nice. He's doing what any troll knows to do: looking out for himself and the few he cares about. If that means even faintly working with others, well, he'll learn to deal.]
[Also, that's all the network is getting from him. Click goes the camera!]
[Filtered to Summoner]
[Darkleer hesitates before sending this one out, although his voice is just as stoic and stern as ever.]
Since your children in particular seem to be taking this badly, perhaps it would benefit you to know that those things which followed us were nothing more than mere robots. The technology may have been organic in nature, but it was still nothing truly living. No pain, no loss of life.
That's all.

That works for me!
Well that's a start. We could also check out the church. That's where the priestess chick would be hiding out if she's still around, I would think.
Great!
No, that would be too obvious even for hiding in plain sight. Besides, from what I understand, the church is no more.

[He folds his arms, grumbling]
That does lend credence to the theory about there being at least two groups though. If they don't know where or when she is, clearly they didn't send her there. Or.. then. Whatever.

[Darkleer trails off for a moment before he speaks again.]
When the island was first discovered, another individual discovered some documents which suggested the presence of the scientists. Mentioned in them was how the locals are not foreigners but also not knowing participants in the experiments.
no subject
I see. Do you still have access to a copy of those documents?
[She leans forward onto her own SFC again, pulling up the documents that Motochika had shown her, the ones that were taken from the church. She sends a copy to Darkleer and leaves it up for Zelos to read.]
These are the ones from the church.

So we're batteries for this Sors thing? Looks like we're caught in the middle of some war.
[He flips back and forth across the pages again]
Nearest I can figure from this is whatever country we're in...Fasest I think? Is trying to stay neutral but some other place.. uhh...
[Click click]
Herzog sent them some kind of threat.
[Another pause while he reviews it again]
Looks like they monitor the network too. Is there any indication on how old this document is? Or if we can find more of it?

[And away they go! He sends two copies, for both Zelos and Zelda.]
This was found more recently. If you wish to discuss more, I would recommend Karkat Vantas. He is the individual who found it.
It's my bedtime </3 Zelda wants to do some thinking anyway
[She takes her own SFC, giving Zelos' back to him.]
I have directed the people I thought of to this post. I will be sure to take a look at it again later to see what everyone has come up with.
nightie! we'll keep on keepin' on.
Figures. Doesn't look like the coral's any more of a God than we are. It might have a consciousness though. There's a tree on my world that does. But otherwise, it's like I thought. They're doing the curses on purpose and recording the outcomes, whatever that is. Maybe they cause us to put out some kind of energy? That seems to be what they're after.
[He sighs and mutters under his breath]
Maybe this place isn't all that different from home. Man people'll throw their faith at anything, won't they.
[He blinks and looks dour as a thought occurs]
You don't think they're literally harvesting whatever energy it is we give off because of the curses for their war, do you? That could have been what the fairies were for, then the opposition killed 'em.
or in my case, we'll fall asleep in front of our keyboards while trying to tag 8T
[Darkleer thinks over that suggestion about the war and the faeries' roles in that before he shakes his head.]
If her words can be trusted, than Carol said that they were observation devices. While it's possible that they were there to harvest energy, I highly doubt it. I believe that would be the honor of the coral itself.
lol I was wondering
[There is no way in hell he's going to involved Colette if there's even the slightest chance of retribution from their proverbial jailers. He rubs his face and lets out a frustrated whine, flopping his head back over the top of the couch.]
This is all such bullshit! We don't have enough information.
I didn't expect this thread to explode eep
[A patient reminder.]
To gather information more recent arrivals do not possess, theorize, and prepare.
I know, it's daunting! I'm having trouble keeping everything straight. Maybe a summary post later?
That would be a good idea, yeah!
Some of the experiments performed on us with these 'curses' have been hardly nothing more than childish pranks. However, there have been differences, and other events have happened which have been considerably more dangerous, such as the kraken. If we get a general idea of what to expect, we can at least have a basic response ready. Something so that we won't be caught so off-guard.

[He sighs]
I just get the feeling that this is way simpler then we're making it out to be and when we do figure out how to leave, it'll have been staring us in the face the entire time.
If that Carol lady comes back, we could try and ask her what some of the stuff in the documents mean, though I'm also worried that would tip our hand considering we don't know if she's an ally or not.
