[The video comes on in a jolt of motion, which stills to a skewed image of pavement, buildings, and a soaking wet teenage boy clad in red and black lying on the ground. He winces as though he'd just hit the ground. Hard.]

[Pushing himself up off the ground, he rubs his head.]

Is everyone all...

[Wait. Something's wrong. He looks around the plaza with clearly growing alarm, but still not at the SFC.]

Guys? Where is everyone?

[And where in the world is he?!]

[Ugh, he's not quite as bad at geography as he is at, say, math or history, but when it comes to names of obscure places, he's sunk. He doesn't think he's even heard of Terca... Lumis... whatever that place was before.]

Wait, that's the ocean?! What's keeping the water out?

A barrier, likely. Although powered by something unfamiliar. [ He hasn't seen the glowing rings for a barrier yet. Or found the blastia to power it... ]

[Even with the lack of detailed explanation, Lloyd is still awed.]

Whoa. I had no idea people could live underwater like this. But then, how do people get out?

Well, yeah, can't they? If there's a way in, there's gotta be a way out. Besides, why would somebody build something they'd get stuck in?

To trap others in, perhaps.

Even if that's the case, the fact that we got in means that there is a hole somewhere. We just have to find it again and get it to open for us.

And if a power beyond those held by any - particularly beyond for the powers of those here are weakened - is the cause? No hole? [ He.. has the feeling that this teen-in-red is particularly idealistic. ]

But we don't know that's the case. We won't know if we don't try. I don't think we should give up just because no one's found the way out yet.

Everyone's different, though, so some of us who weren't here before might try different things that no one else has ever tried. One of those things might be just what we need.

[He shakes his head.]

[Maybe someone else might have commented on the change of subject, but Lloyd? Nah, bad as he is at staying focused sometimes, he barely even notices. He just goes with it.]

They're a different race from humans. They're pretty short, and most of them live underground. They're really well known for how good they are at mining and blacksmithing and making or customizing things. You don't see them very much, though. I've only met two, and my dad was one of them.

Like Kritya, but performing the jobs that the Soul Smiths. [ A blink and a short moment of concentration. A tiny flicker of magic, but nothing so concentrated to be visible.

Lloyd doesn't quite seem to be half anything that's not human, even if he does feel a bit weird as a human. ]

Huh? Oh. No, Dirk's not my real dad. I don't actually know anything about my real dad, except that he's probably dead. Dirk's my Dad, though, as far as I'm concerned. He's raised me since I was three.

[Lloyd isn't really sensitive to magic at all. The flicker goes completely unnoticed.]

What're Kritya and Soul Smiths?

A guild and another race. Kritya are humanoid, marked out by longer ears, tendencies toward hair colors such as blue or green. [ A pause. ] And antennae.

...that almost sounded like elves up until you said the part about antennae. Man, I guess even the races are different when you live under the ocean, if you don't know about dwarves and I've never heard about Kritya.

[Yup, still thinks this is somewhere on Sylvarant, even if it's in the ocean.]

Thought had said that this was not upon where you thought it was. It is not of Terca Lumireis - where Kritya and Entelexeia are as common as humans, nor is it your Sylvarant.

.... No. It is not Tethe'alla, Terca Lumireis, Sylvarant, nor any other world you think you should be on. It is not of any of the worlds that the others here believe they should be on. It is elsewhere, entirely.
