[What began as the harmless gift of a bunch of costume mermaid tails transformed, after making its way around town, into the rather fishy rumor that Tifa was secretly a mermaid. The miniskirts made it clear enough that she had legs during the day, but what about at night? Did she sleep in her bathtub?

Thus it is that Tifa finds herself having some difficulty bathing this evening... with one of the mermaid tails suddenly in the way. Somehow it's gotten stuck on and she can't get the thing off. Not actually wanting to spend the night in her bathtub, she calls up Rinoa to give her a hand.

The video clicks on as her friend arrives, the SFC recording from the edge of the sink, thankfully facing Tifa's back.]

[When Tifa had mentioned something about needing help and a bathtub, Rinoa had assumed that she had fallen and hurt herself or something terrible.

But God above, she was not ready for what she finds when she walks into Tifa's bathroom.

Laughter isn't her reaction. More like gawking and stunned silence.]

[The laughter is probably coming though, isn't it? Tifa gives her a wry smile.]

I heard a few things about people turning part animal this week, but I don't think this exactly qualifies...

[She lifts her legs, waving the tail a bit.]

[Actually, Rinoa seems more in awe, rather than finding it humorous. Of course, they haven't tried getting Tifa out of the tub yet.]

There seems to be a lot going around this week.

[Compelled, she touches the tail lightly, almost shocked to feel the scales.]

It's pretty, at least?

It was a Christmas present, actually.

I guess it might be fun to wear it in the tub sometimes, if it'd come off again.

So a Christmas present became permanently attached to you?

...I hope it's not permanent.

Me too. It's... probably just a curse? Weirder stuff has happened.

[Tifa doesn't jump at hearing the unexpected voice from behind her, but ohgods was that thing recording? She crosses one arm over her chest, but it doesn't exactly hide all the cleavage as she turns to grab the SFC with her other hand. She quickly flips it to voice.]

[She figures that's not exactly true, but, well... Not really his fault either.]

[Thank goodness for long hair; it covers what really ought to be covered for those few seconds between when she turns around to grab the SFC and when she switches it to voice. It might not have covered the scar, though.]
