007 - [Accidental Video]

[What began as the harmless gift of a bunch of costume mermaid tails transformed, after making its way around town, into the rather fishy rumor that Tifa was secretly a mermaid. The miniskirts made it clear enough that she had legs during the day, but what about at night? Did she sleep in her bathtub?

Thus it is that Tifa finds herself having some difficulty bathing this evening... with one of the mermaid tails suddenly in the way. Somehow it's gotten stuck on and she can't get the thing off. Not actually wanting to spend the night in her bathtub, she calls up Rinoa to give her a hand.

The video clicks on as her friend arrives, the SFC recording from the edge of the sink, thankfully facing Tifa's back.]

Don't laugh.

It was a Christmas present, actually.

I guess it might be fun to wear it in the tub sometimes, if it'd come off again.

So a Christmas present became permanently attached to you?

...I hope it's not permanent.

Me too. It's... probably just a curse? Weirder stuff has happened.

Probably.

[Tifa gives the tail another experimental tug just to see. Nope, still stuck for now.]

So, what did you....

[Click.]

Oh. Right. You're not gonna be able to get out of the tub easy, are ya?

[fightforastar]

[Her expression turns sheepish again.]

Not really.

These tails aren't exactly made for walking either.

Action

[sorcery_fledgling]

Yeah. How the heck are you gonna get by until it goes away?

Action

[fightforastar]

I was thinking I'd take some snacks to bed and hope it goes away tomorrow morning.

[Otherwise there's going to be a lot of undignified crawling.]

I can stay here with you until it does. I'm sure my roommate would understand.

You don't have to do that. I just need a hand getting settled.

[sorcery_fledgling]

You sure? I don't mind. And it's gonna be hard for you to get around and take care of yourself if this goes on for a few days.

I'll figure something out if it does.

[sorcery_fledgling]

Well, don't hesitate to call again, okay? I don't mind.

[But right now, they need to focus on the current predicament.]

So, uh, any ideas on how to get you out of the tub without making a huge mess and both of us winding up on the floor?

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

Now...

[She sloshes a bit in the tub as she reaches beneath her to pull the stopper out of the drain. She's still wet, and there's already some water on the floor from her earlier struggle to get the tail off, but at least they can minimize the mess.]

I think I could probably stand up in this. [With a little help.]

You think...?

[Rinoa's not sure if it's a good idea, but she doesn't have any other better ideas, so she nods and moves over towards Tifa.]

[fightforastar]

We'll find out.

[Once the water's drained, Tifa shifts so she's got the end of the tail with her feet in it beneath her. She grabs the side of the tub with one hand and reaches for Rinoa's support with the other as she starts to push herself up.]

[sorcery_fledgling]

[Rinoa gets under Tifa's arm and helps prop her up, putting her other arm around her waist to get a good hold of her.]

So is this going to be a jump or me sort of carrying/pulling you out?

[fightforastar]

Ah...

[She had been thinking to jump, but now that she's up, the edge of the tub seems an awfully high mark to hit while bound up clumsily in the tail.]

Jumping probably wouldn't end well.

[sorcery_fledgling]

[That's exactly what she's afraid of.]

Okay okay. Maybe we can do a bit of both: I'll help lift you while you jump. If all goes well, you should get out okay.

[fightforastar]

[Tifa nods.]

All right. We'll give it a try. Count of three?

[Flashing Rinoa a sheepish grin before giving the count and then doing her best to jump over the side.]

[There's no WAY this could go wrong, right?

Oh god

On "three", Rinoa does her best to lift Tifa up while she jumps. The good news is, from the looks of it, Tifa made it over the bathrub rim. Or so Rinoa hopes. Because the bad news is, she totally toppled over en process.]

[Well, Rinoa is certainly the envy of many men right now, with a half-naked Tifa on top of her. If only she cared about that sort of thing.

Tifa pushes off of her as best she can.]

Well, that could've gone better.

Are you okay?

[sorcery_fledgling]

[And probably some women, too.

Rinoa's much more concerned about the floor in her face - or her face in the floor. Groaning, she gingerly gets up once Tifa is off of her.]

Ow. Yeah, I've had worse happen. Sorry... about that. I forgot to mention I'm sort of clumsy. You okay?

[Oh, hey, there's blood coming out of her nose...]

[Tifa nods.]

You sort of cushioned the fall.

[She eyes Rinoa in concern.]

You don't look okay. Let me see your nose.
