[Cue Zelos, sitting on the end of his large bed, a vase of roses to his right on the nightstand and a candle burning behind to his left.]

So, ladies and gentlemen of Vatheon, it has come to my attention due to the upswing of network posts having to do with romance that a lot of you are in the need of advice; maybe a guiding hand in your love lives from someone with more experience with the fairer sex, or at a loss for what your man expects during this time of year.

[He sits back a bit, steepling his fingers with a grin at the camera.]

Fear not Vatheonites! You've got none other than the Great Zelos Wilder here to dole out advice on anything and everything pertaining to the romantic arts~❤ Don't worry hunnys, your secrets are safe with me~ All comments are filtered so no one'll be the wiser.

[He winks seductively into the feed.]

Don't be shy~ With a little help from me, this could be your best valentine's ever.

Why would I want to take a hunny anywhere? I've met your hunnies before. They're kind of annoying.

[Totally not just taking Colette's side because of the remarks they made about her.]

Hey now, don't be rude, Bud. Hunnys are people too, and they each have their own special qualities. Colette, Raine, Sheena, and Presea are all my hunnys too, y'know. You can't possibly be calling them annoying! How mean!

[This time Lloyd does make a face, mostly because Zelos kind of has a point. He definitely wouldn't put his friends on the same level as the girls who liked to hang around Zelos back in their world.]

Okay, so maybe not all hunnies are bad - although I still don't get what makes Colette and Sheena and Presea and the Professor your hunnies at all. Aren't they just our friends?

Oh Lloyd, haven't I taught you anything? All the ladies are my hunnies! If you were a lady, you'd be my hunny too♥

[Wait, did he just say that?]

W-what?! No way, I'm not your hunny at all!

[You did, but Lloyd can't believe you said it, either!]

Of course you're not! You're a man. [Sheesh Lloyd, get with the program!]

Yeah, but I wouldn't be your hunny even if I was a girl!

Hmm~? [Zelos flips his hair off his shoulder dramatically.] Pretty sure you wouldn't be able to resist.~

[..okay this is getting creepy. He laughs boisterously to show it was all a joke anyway and to cover up his extreme discomfort as to where that conversation had been going.]

So what are you gonna do for Valentines, Bud?

[Zelos, don't say things like that to him. THAT IS BEYOND DISTURBING. Disturbing enough that Lloyd is more than glad to let Zelos brush it off with a laugh - though he still shoots the redhead a dirty look.]

You know, I'm feeling that sudden violent urge to abandon you again. Definitely with lots of violence.

[He huffs out a breath, then shakes his head, turning his attention to the question.]

I dunno. I hadn't really thought about it. I've still got lots of time, right?

[Aww, that hurts, Bud! Right here! Right in his fragile little heart! It also brings back memories of their journey together, which is more nostalgic than painful and causes Zelos to smile once his exaggerated wounded expressions has hit home.]

Not really. Two weeks isn't much, especially if you want to make her something.

[Lloyd is more startled than alarmed to hear how much time he has left.]

Two weeks? Really? I thought it was months away!

Nope! It's already February 2nd! [He sighs exaggeratedly and shakes his head, tisking Lloyd's misread of the calendar.] What am I gonna do with you, Bud?

[Of course he didn't actually say February, but whatever forces were at work in Vatheon that allowed everyone to understand each other translated it as such. Lloyd would simply hear the corresponding month and date as it would appear on the Aeslian calendar.]

[Thank goodness for such translation effects, because man, would Lloyd have a hard time trying to learn a new calendar system.]

But it was still October before I got here. Wait, does this have anything to do with us being from different times?

Pretty sure it just has to do with it being a different time of year on this world. It was spring already when I got snagged here. [At least it doesn't snow under water.]

So what are you going to make her?

[It's getting late and with all of the other idiotic questions that are getting thrown at him (though there's some that are worthwhile too), Zelos' patience is wearing thin and he's decided to just be blunt with Lloyd. He's his bud! He'll understand.]

[Being blunt is probably a good strategy anyway. Lloyd can be rather dense. Only one of their female friends is with them in this world, though, and Lloyd hasn't had time to really make friends with anyone else. There's no way he can't tell who Zelos is talking about.

Not that he won't still be dense.

Feeling suddenly flustered and caught totally flatfooted, he rubs the back of his neck with his free hand.]

Well, uh, I usually make all my friends something.

[But he usually had more time to come up with an idea. Still, two weeks. Hadn't he made things in less time than that?]

Don't worry, Zelos, I'll think of something I can make for you and Colette.

[Now who's caught flat-footed? Zelos stares blankly at Lloyd for half a second, trying to wrap his head around the implication of Lloyd making him something for Valentine's Day - even if he knows Lloyd means as a friend, but the connotation...

Zelos suddenly breaks into a prodigious grin, squelching the namelessly embarrassing and uncomfortable feeling that bubbles up whenever Lloyd does anything nice for him.]

Oh-ho~? A valentine for me? I'm touched, Bud! Changed your mind about being my hunny, did you? And so quickly! I'm flattered, really, but you know my heart only beats for the ladies♥

What? What're you talking about? I didn't say anything like that! I'm giving you a Valentine because you're my friend and that's it! Come on, haven't you ever given people Valentines because you know them or they're your friends or your teacher made you give one to everyone in class? It doesn't mean I want to like you like that!

[Dammit, why does everything he says go wrong whenever he's talking to Zelos?]

That's just the theme of the holiday, you know. Love and romance! What was I supposed to think?

[He knows damn well that Lloyd meant but getting something from Lloyd especially out of friendship makes him happier than he's willing to admit and the feeling is so embarrassing he has to laugh it off. Lloyd's his friend. His friend. Why is it so hard to get used to?

Probably because all the valentines he'd ever received came with the unwritten solicitation for other favors, but... Lloyd doesn't want anything from him. How do you even respond to that?]

Not just romance. It's about friendship, too! That's a kind of love, isn't it? Otherwise, kids wouldn't get to celebrate it at all.

[Because Lloyd comes from a background where kids didn't have to deal with any other kind of love until they almost weren't kids at all. Because he still hasn't really gotten to that stage himself. Because even when he does, there will always be part of him that believes that innocent love will always exist.]

I guess... that's true.

[It's all Zelos can do to keep his composure at this point. Innocent love... yeah, maybe for people like Lloyd and Colette, unsullied and idealistic. Zelos isn't sure, but there's nothing that could ever lead him to burst that bubble for Lloyd. Never. Let him go on believing, let him be a child for as long as he can. He deserves that much.

Zelos, on the other hand, can't quite stomach the exchange any longer. it's too much, and if he were a lesser man that burning at the corners of his eyes would be something to actually worry about.]

Well you just do what you're gonna do then, Lloyd. I've got dates and about a billion chocolates to make. The romantic kind~♥ [He winks exaggeratedly.]

I'll catcha later, kid~!

[And off he goes, closing the feed with a wave and a smile that, if Lloyd is looking for it, seems a little more genuine than normal.]

[Lloyd looks at the communicator a moment longer after Zelos hangs up, then he laughs and shakes his head.

Some things never change.]

Well, I better go find things I can use to make... whatever I'm going to make. Maybe I can carve something with wood...

[Still turning ideas over, he turns his own SFC off.]
