this might sound silly but could i have a hug?

[ She's not really directing this at anybody in particular. She just found out parts of her family are no longer here and she's ... not handling it too well. She'll take a hug from anyone willing to give one. ]

[ Instead of making her way back to the apartment like she planned, she now headed in the direction of the villa. It didn't take her long to make it there and let herself into the place. She closed the door quietly behind her and looked up. ]

[Rin was expecting as much, so he doesn't worry about needing to open the door for her. He actually comes in from the back yard, though, and immediately goes to Kohaku. He's a little dirty, though, and looks like he's been working on something pretty intensely for a few hours by now.]

Sorry, it's kind of a dirty hug...

[But he's going to hug her anyway because that's what friends do.]

[ Kohaku doesn't seem to care about how dirty he is. She hugs him back, tightly. ]

S'fine ...

[ She buries her face into his shoulder, trying really hard not to cry. Between Kuro, Cal, and now Mitsuhide, Motochika, and Gracia ... it's hard not to feel the hurt from losing so many of her loved ones in such a short time. ]

[She might just go home smelling a bit like dirt. And boy. But if she doesn't mind he doesn't either, and he's going to give her a nice big hug back.]

I know you probably wanna get back home to Shing soon, but you can stay as long as you want, okay?

[ She's used to the boy smell. She lives with one. And sleeps in the same bed as one. And she has boys like Rin that she is more than willing to hug. Both the smell of boy and the smell of dirt can be taken care of. ]

Mkay.

[ She's really grateful for this, little brother. She really needs the hugs. ]

... I know people leave from this world all the time, but ... it's really painful when so many of the people you love leave at around the same time ...

Yeah... I know the feelin'.

[He pulls away to lead her in to the kitchen. There's a pitcher of lemonade out on the counter and a few clean glasses. He doesn't really bother asking her if she wants some, just pouring her a drink and sliding it over. If she doesn't want it, it's no big deal, but he figures something a little distracting might help even a tiny bit.]

At least we're still here.

[ She'll take it, gladly. Thanks, baby bro. Though, her mind is obviously elsewhere even still. She nods. ]

But for how long ...

[ She didn't mean for it to come out like that. She didn't want to be so negative about any of this, not after giving Rin a pep talk about the exact same thing a while back. ]

M'Sorry.

[ She'll just take a sip of her lemonade and shut up now. ]

For as long as we possibly can be.

[It's a blunt, honest answer, but there's no point in lying to her. Still, after a moment there's a grin added to that as he leans on the counter, looking down to try to catch her eyes.]

But you can guarantee I'm gonna fight that coral every step of the way.

[ She looks up a little and into his eyes, smiling a little as she sees his smile. ]

I know you will.

Good.

[Rin smiles back, glad that he could at least get that much of a smile out of her. It's not going to fix things, of course, but he was able to help some how.]

[ It doesn't matter that you're a dirty boy right now, Rin. She's going to set her lemonade on the table and move over to give you another tight hug. ]

[He is a-ok with another hug.]

[ good because she's not letting go for a while. ]
