Day 439 - [Accidental Video]

[The feed opens on a bathtub.

Thankfully this isn't actually Roxas taking a bath. He's wearing swimtrunks, thank you very much, and the chocobos are with him. They're getting big enough now that all three of them nesting in his hair is probably no longer a possibility, and he's taken it upon himself to teach them how to swim.

The red chick seems to want no part of this and is watching from the safety of his shoulder. Roxas has his hands just under the water, beneath the yellow chick as it flounders around, and before too long he has to scoop it up so it can take a rest. The blue one meanwhile has this down already and is swimming placidly around the tub.]

...you're really good at this, Isa.

Is it fun raising chocobos? I held the red one the other day and its really soft, even if the peeping is so high pitched it hurts my ears. That's not the chocobo's fault though.

[Hylian ears are just very sensitive.]

They can be a handful, but it's nice having them around. They're really sweet most of the time.

Was it your idea or Axel's to raise them?

[There's probably only so many chocobo chicks in he bubble so running into Axel with a cadre of the same colors makes Sola guess they're doing it together.]

That's because the blue one specializes in swimming.

You might want to keep a towel over your device. Next time it could record you singing or changing.

That's... not a bad idea. It seems to do this a lot.

Yellows can travel on sand and ground. They aren't the best mountain climbers though.

[A pause.] Reds might be mountain? We only have yellows where I'm from. All the other colors are from another world, but there was a book on them. If the books survived the flood then check the library or the Nook.

[Smiling.] I've been caught singing before. After that, I keep it inside of my pocket or a drawer when I'm not using it. Someone was offering a password app for them. I might contact them to see if the offer is still available to everyone.

I guess we should look. I didn't even know they were chocobos 'til Faris told me. Can they all learn to swim okay?

[Whether they can or not, the yellow one seems ready to give it another go. He's stepping off Roxas's hands back into the water.] Careful...

Do you think the- password thing would really work?

[Meanwhile, Axel's in the doorway watching all of this go on. Smirking, he laughs then pushes away from the wall so he can take a step inside.]

I bet he's gonna brag about it too.

[Assuming the blue one even is a boy.]

Sunset doesn't look like he's enjoying himself very much.

[Roxas glances up with a little smile.]

I think this is his way of bragging.

[Showing off to the other two like that.]

Well- he did fall in the pond. I think he's nervous.

What a ham.

[When he says it, Isa looks up, cheeps indignantly at him, then splashes about. Either they're already in their rebellious adolescent stages, or that chocobo is just that sassy. Axel's inclined to believe the latter. With a laugh, he ends up sitting up on the bathroom counter to watch them.]

Try coaxing him a little.

[In turn Popcorn cheeps in alarm as the splashing makes waves in the bathwater, and flounders over to clamber up onto Roxas's knee.]

Hey, calm down, Isa. He's just messing with you.

[Isa chirps again, adjusts his little wings, and just floats there sulkily. Roxas then offers Sunset his hand to hop onto.]

C'mon. I'll have you the whole time.

[Saix might... actually have no words to say. So just have staring, Roxas. Blank, blank staring.]

[If he stares hard enough maybe this will all make sense. Or make Roxas feel weird enough to explain.]

[No, Larxene was just plain scary.]

They're baby chocobos. They- actually get big enough you can ride them.

Oh! Those are chocobos? My friend is actually going to teach me to ride them. They look so tiny!

I know, right? It's hard to imagine them growing up so much.
