...... I need a new swordmaster - or someone who can use bladed weapons. There's only so much I can learn on my own now that Sephiroth is no longer here. [ Technically, he's been training on his own for a while, but now that he's belatedly realised that his mentor/teacher's no longer on the list...

Yea. New teacher is really needed if he wanted to make any proper headway into his skills with the blade. :|]

I'm competent with the basics so there's no issue with that. I'd rather not have a complete moron who'd just hinder my progress and or undo what was taught to me by the General, but.. [ Silver looks uncomfortable here. Gee, it must be that that stick up the butt is being dislodged somewhat.] I'll take what I can get; even a moron's better than nothing.

[Ky's generally modest, but this isn't a time for modesty. It's a time for honesty.

It's also a little hard for him to describe his skill, because a large part of his effectiveness comes from his use of lightning magic woven into his swordfighting and because when he was trained people tended to use whichever weapon came more comfortably to them.]

I've been training nearly continually for the last fourteen years.

I rose to be the Commander of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights and can hold my own in most fights I've fought which are purely a contest of the blades.

Not bad then. [Rank matters and it tells of skill, to him anyway. Silver really just wants a teacher that he feels is competent enough with a sword, and so far, this person seems like the right choice.] What style do you use?

I'm familiar with the rapier and the zweihander, if you're talking about the style of blade. Regarding my fighting style, it's adopted from a variety of people who have taught me and who I've fought. Whatever I've been able to use which suits the weapon, for the most part.

I'm afraid that I don't know anyone  here I would be able to make use of for the demonstration however. Unless you simply mean a demonstration of my teaching ability.
