...... I need a new swordmaster - or someone who can use bladed weapons. There's only so much I can learn on my own now that Sephiroth is no longer here. [ Technically, he's been training on his own for a while, but now that he's belatedly realised that his mentor/teacher's no longer on the list...

Yea. New teacher is really needed if he wanted to make any proper headway into his skills with the blade. :|]

I'm competent with the basics so there's no issue with that. I'd rather not have a complete moron who'd just hinder my progress and or undo what was taught to me by the General, but.. [ Silver looks uncomfortable here. Gee, it must be that that stick up the butt is being dislodged somewhat.] I'll take what I can get; even a moron's better than nothing.

I can perhaps offer some assistance.

I'm trained with a sword, at least, and I have some experience teaching others.

[ Ky doesn't think he counts as a complete moron, even Sol wouldn't call him that when it comes to his swordfighting abilities.

And it would be good to have someone to practice against. ]

It's also a little hard for him to describe his skill, because a large part of his effectiveness comes from his use of lightning magic woven into his swordfighting and because when he was trained people tended to use whichever weapon came more comfortably to them.]

I've been training nearly continually for the last fourteen years.

I rose to be the Commander of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights and can hold my own in most fights I've fought which are purely a contest of the blades.

I'm familiar with the rapier and the zweihander, if you're talking about the style of blade. Regarding my fighting style, it's adopted from a variety of people who have taught me and who I've fought. Whatever I've been able to use which suits the weapon, for the most part.

It's similar to that of the Japanese style.

The Japanese style contains many other styles within itself; however, the most general style would be Kenjutsu. That is likely what you were taught?

It... it is most definitely not all that matters. To learn well you need more than a teacher with talent with the blade.

If you know only the basics, you should not have progressed past a wooden katana yet. You risk damaging your hands, as well as other things, by wielding a full katana at such a time.

May I ask you a question? Why do you wish to learn swordplay?

A style closest to what I was taught. It was very similar to the Japanese style.

Still. It ist old-fashioned, unvieldy und serves no ozher practical purpose, so even for a melee veapon vhen ranged veaponry ist available it seems like eine questionable choize... Especially für eine small person like yourself.
