[One thing about Councillor Gorthan is that he is still very unsure about Vatheon and its people, and in general doesn't like hanging outside very often. Also because he may find himself getting hungry for the residents' emotions, and he is trying to maintain a low profile for the moment.

So here, Vatheon, have a short, simple text.]

Is anybody here able to recommend any good books?

I am particularly interested in poetry, philosophy and epics.

The library has a nice selection of books.

I know that. I have seen it.

However, I have not yet been able to find anything from my native planet there. All other literatures there are completely foreign to me, and I am looking to find works that are at least comparable to my favorite classics from my planet. Provided such things exists.

I think a lot of the literature here is based on this culture rather than anything one might find in their own world.

And by "this culture", you mean...?

How about the stories of King Arthur?

[Well, if there's a great king involved, he could be interested, he supposes.]

What are they about?

Well it starts off in this kingdom, and the king just died, but he doesn't have a heir, so everyone is worried about what will happen to their home. Then suddenly, a magic sword appears in the kingdom, stuck in a stone, and the stone has stuff written on it, saying 'he who pulls out the sword will be the next king'. So everyone tries, but no one can, and the kingdom is in despair.

Years and years later, the people decide since no one can get the sword out, they'll have a jousting tournament to decide who becomes king. That brings up Kay, and his squire, Wart!

That does seem promising. What is the book's title, exactly?

The one I read was called 'The Sword In The Stone.' It's one of my favorites! It's got sword fights and magic and fighting evil and all kinds of fun adventures!

What ones have you had a chance to read so far? I've found Rousseau interesting from an historical philosophical standpoint, or Rilke for poetry.

While I got my hands on a book on marine life, I have yet to delve into this culture's literature.

I will keep those names in mind. Can you suggest any specific titles?

Not without a better understanding of what the library has available, I'm afraid. Since Vatheon's culture isn't my own.

Certainly, I see. But, just out of curiosity - what are the titles that you remember from your world?

If you have the chance to read any of the collections of W.B. Yeats' poems, or Paseroux's Discourse on Magical Nature, I'd recommend either of those, in addition to the other authors.

Yes. Edgar Allan Poe. An American poet and writer of short stories.

I see. What are his works about?

The majority of his short stories and longer poems are horrific and mysterious, with a focus on madness, both through the lens of an unreliable narrator and a sane observer. Intriguing, as it was rumored that the writer himself went mad before his death.
