I think it's a little different for everyone. For me, a friend is someone I want to spend a lot of time with, someone that I care a lot for. It's really nice to get along with people like that!

It's a little difficult to define. If you find yourself looking for reasons to talk to someone and thinking about them when they aren't around, you're probably becoming friends.

As for me, a friend is... hmm. A comrade. Someone I can trust and rely upon above all others, and for whom I would provide the same level of dedication.

There are multiple meanings to the word. Someone you consider an ally, an acquaintance with whom you are on good terms, or someone you are specifically close with on an emotional level. None of these are incorrect-- it simply depends on the person in question.

When you're friends with somebody, your hearts have a bond that nothing can break. You'll be there for each other as much as possible, and go the distance for them.

... This is my experience with friendship, though. I'm sure you're finding that a lot of people have a lot of meanings. Friendship isn't exactly something that can be described in one particular way. Really, just listen to what your heart tells you; if someone is a friend, you'll just know.
