...I do not recall what friendship is like on a personal level. On a general basis, it's suppose to be someone who stays with you through glory and hardship. How often does this truly last for most, I wonder...?
A friend is someone you want to protect, someone to fight for and keep safe. In return, they will do the same for you. Friends have each other's backs, through thick and thin.
[Text? Haha nope, Ion will shamelessly extol the virtues of friendship on a video!]
I think it's a little different for everyone. For me, a friend is someone I want to spend a lot of time with, someone that I care a lot for. It's really nice to get along with people like that!
[She's not anonymous, but she's not as shameless as Ion. Text for sure.]
It's a little difficult to define. If you find yourself looking for reasons to talk to someone and thinking about them when they aren't around, you're probably becoming friends.
[At least that's how she figured out she liked Shizuo and Zelos!]
If you're seeking a single concrete answer, you are likely not to find one. It's a decision you must make for yourself.
As for me, a friend is... hmm. A comrade. Someone I can trust and rely upon above all others, and for whom I would provide the same level of dedication.
There are multiple meanings to the word. Someone you consider an ally, an acquaintance with whom you are on good terms, or someone you are specifically close with on an emotional level. None of these are incorrect-- it simply depends on the person in question.
A friend is someone you enjoy spending time with. Someone you can tease and joke with, who will laugh alongside you. Someone you might fight with, but in the end, can still make up up and care about each other.
When you're friends with somebody, your hearts have a bond that nothing can break. You'll be there for each other as much as possible, and go the distance for them.
... This is my experience with friendship, though. I'm sure you're finding that a lot of people have a lot of meanings. Friendship isn't exactly something that can be described in one particular way. Really, just listen to what your heart tells you; if someone is a friend, you'll just know.

Sure, they can have their flaws, but if you think of them as a friend then you still want to be with them despite those.
