Wakey, Wakey, Selphie!~

*So Selphie might look a little sleepy, and her hair's a little more tousled than usual. But at least she's sitting up in bed, even if she is still in her pyjamas. Yes, she's been dead asleep for over a week now, but she always still finds herself exhausted at the end of it. It's happened a couple of times now, and she's not really surprised*

 

Whoa... A new year and I've slept for most of it already! Boo!

*Selphie will be waiting at her home, with a pink frilly apron on and all!*

[D'awwww, no pink apron here, but she does come wearing pink. So they can match or something, yep!

There's a knock on Selphie's door after about ten minutes or so, and Yukari is carrying the books in question, looking kind of excited to be spending time with people outside SEES again. Hopefully she can get better at this whole cooking thing...]

*Yay! Matching colours in the kitchen!

Selphie answers the door, her cat Moses running around her feet to see who the visitor is*

Hi Yukari!~

*She'd give her friend a hug, but it's best not to with all those books she's carrying*

Come on in and I'll show you the kitchen!

Heeyy. Sure thing!

[B'awwww! Excuse her while she is distracted by the kitty for a moment, though. She steps inside, but then holds out her free hand to Moses, bending down and trying to become familiar.]

—and hi, cutie. What's your name?

*Selphie lead the way through to the kitchen and turned to look down as Moses mewed and licked at Yukari's hand*

That's Moses - he's one of my housemates!

Awwww...!

[Mami, and now Selphie, too. So many cat owners lately...it really makes her miss Koromaru. She speaks to the cat like she would him...]

Aren't you adorable. You won't get in the way while we're trying to cook, will you?

[Pretty sure chocolate is bad for him 8(]

*Selphie giggled as she entered the kitchen, all brand new and pretty utensils sitting out on the side, along with a whole bunch of ingredients*

I think he might just watch for a while, if you don't mind?

[She shakes her head at that, standing upright again and turning her attention back to Selphie.]

Nah. That should be okay, I think.

[And then she sets her books down on the counter, giving them a firm pat as she looks at them side by side along with the ingredients.]

I brought a lot for us to choose from--including the yummy dessert stuff, if you'd prefer to start with that.

He's a good cat, so he won't get in the way. If he starts any trouble, I'll just send him out to go find Kenshin.

*And she gives a little warning glance at the cat before sticking out her tongue at him. Yeah, this kitty was intelligent*

Wow! You did! Hmm... I dunno! We should start with something easy though, I think.

[She laughs, seeing the kitty do that. Very intelligent indeed... and then she puts a hand to her chin. She hadn't exactly thought about this actually.]

...You think so? I guess that'd be a good idea... [Hrm.] A cake might be a little too much, and we don't wanna mess up and waste the ingredients.

*Moses, anyway, seeing the girls looking thoughtful and busy, turns to leave the room. Meantime Selphie glances over the various things lying around in the kitchen. Hopefully the drunken pirate ghost wouldn't appear...*

How about... cookies? Something little - that should be easy, right? I've tried them before..

[She glances around as well! And then perks up a little at the suggestion. She was thinking cupcakes, but—]

Perfect! I have once or twice, too...

You've got chocolate chips, right?

[booyaka_boom]

*Cupcakes?! They could be next!*

I hope the ones you made were nicer than the ones that I did!

*Selphie giggled as she looked through a heap of various types of chocolate ingredients*

Yeah! I got chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate!

[...Aha. ha. Yeah, let's not talk about those. Oops. But Yukari smiles, seeing all the chocolate.]

Great! I don't really have a preference, to be honest, so...maybe we could make some of each.

[Unnnnless Selphie would prefer one over the others--]

That's a great idea!

*So Selphie grabs each of the bags and begins opening one, holding it out to Yukari*

Wanna try some first?

S-Sure!

[Oh, dear. Well, this is a slippery slope waiting to happen, but Yukari can't bring it in herself to say no!

...So yeah, she's totally grabbing one too.]

Heh, just gotta make sure not to eat all of them--

Okay, okay!

*Selphie is in danger of eating them all, so she puts them back and picks up a book instead*

Okay... a recipe..

[Yes good, gooood girl. That makes it much easier for Yukari to stop, too, and she looks at the book over her shoulder.

As they flip through, she notices a ton of sweet recipes, paying even closer attention when they get to the cookies. And she puts her hand on the page to keep Selphie from turning it again, when they get to one that catches her eye.]

Oh! How about these star-shaped ones? Looks like there are moons and suns too, on the same page.

*Yaay! Selphie can be good too, y'know! When Yukari stops her hand at the page, Selphie brightens up and nods*

Yeah! Those look really cute! Let's make those!

[tsundyne]

[It's decided then!

She removes her hand and leaves the book open to that page to refer to while they work, and she moves to get the ingredients ready.]

Should we make a lot? If they turn out well, I might take some back to my friends at the Volo Dorms...

*Selphie nods brightly, getting the utensils ready and sorting out the scales with some epic concentration*

That's a good idea! A bunch of batches maybe, and see what's best!

All right!

[Staring as she does all that. She's really excited! And then she realizes she needs to be helping too, so she opens a tube of cookie dough; and pulls out the stencil-like things they'll use to make them star, moon and sun-shaped.

Then she looks at the bags of regular, dark, and white chocolate chips.]

We'll need to add these ourselves; looks like the dough's plain.

*La, la, la. Cooking and baking. Selphie picks up the white choc chips first and pours some out into her hand, offering some to Yukari*

[Yukari laughs as she takes some and puts them in her mouth. She works with Selphie to distribute the chips evenly in their first batch, and after a while of molding them into the proper shapes, she peeks at the oven.]

Guess we'll have to pre-heat this, huh?

[Well, they're almost done with said first batch, anyway. All the pretty stars!]

*Selphie panics and looks at the list of instructions. Dur - pre-heat is the first thing!*

*She concentrates hard, but eventually gets the oven pre-heated!*
