[Vatheon, have a view of a rather tired looking vampire, shadows under his eyes and everything. He's been up all night working on something since Zelda mentioned it the night before and, as tired as he is, it's clear he's excited to show whatever it is off.

He's standing in the Lower District with a recently renovated building in the background, and two maids are standing beside him with blank expressions.]

Heeellooo, Vatheon~ Good morning! It was brought up to me last evening that a lot of the people here don't have the education they might need or want, so I decided to try and help with this issue~

[He backs up while the maids stay where they are, and pans the SFC up to take in the building he's in front of. It's modest looking on the outside and the only real 'adornments' are the large double doors and the sign over them that says 'Vatheon Academy.']

Ta~da~! Vatheon Academy. It sounds a lot fancier than it is, I'll admit, but it's basically a place to offer tutoring. There's all sorts of classrooms and things inside for classes like reading, writing, math, art, cooking, music, the like, as well as rooms for teaching and learning self defense, shooting, archery, and magic.

Absolutely anyone can take these classes, no matter your age or education level. If there's something you want to learn, just go to the class!

Noow~ What I need from you, besides people willing to learn, are teachers. I'm offering certain classes I'll teach myself, but I can't teach them all; if there's something you feel you're qualified to teach, then feel free! This place is open to everyone 24/7 so private lessons are perfectly okay, too!

Erm...here[He sends a little electronic pamphlet out on the SFC.] This is a list of the classes I've already thought of and need teachers for. Of course, multiple teachers for one subject is perfectly alright! If you're interested in teaching just let me know your name and what subject you'll take~!

So do I. We haven't seen each other in at least a year in our flaming world, and we're here for not much more than one of this bloody place's months before he falls asleep. [Grumble grumble grumble]

I hope he knows how lucky he is to have a friend who's so concerned~

I wouldn't fret too much, this place can be frustrating, but I like to think it offers a certain happiness to everyone.

[A pause, and he pulls down on his hat a little.]

I think I know what you mean. It seems like it's already given a bit of...relief [Happiness isn't exactly the best way to describe what he means...] to the three of us.

[His smile softens.]

Hold out, it'll get better.

[It had been a relief for him too...and now it was home.]

[The better it gets here, the more he'll worry about when they return to the westlands. And Tarmon Gai'don. So instead of replying to that, he asks something else.]

How long have you been here? [That sounds like he's been here for a while after all.]

I'm coming up on a year here. Not so long as some others have been here, but longer than many.

[Which reminded him...he was going to arrange for a party...he should probably get on that.]

A year...[He'd been here for half as long as the Two Rivers folk had been traveling then.

Some folks have been here longer? [How long have some people been trapped here, willing or not?]

[Johnny shrugged. It didn't feel all that long to him, but that could be because of his own age.]

An...acquaintance of mine has been here for over two years. Apparently, he was one of the first people to show up in this place~

[Seriously, he needed to figure out what to classify his relationship with Crowley...someday. Not now, that was too much of a headache.]

[Over two years...Mat takes off his hat to scratch his head.]

Blood and ashes... [He puts it back on. That's as long as they've been chased by Trollocs and the like. As long as they've known Moiraine. More time than he remembers with only his memories and none of others.]

[He offers a sympathetic smile. He might like it here, but he knows it doesn't appeal to everyone.]
