[He'd made the announcement individually to the few people that Ky knew she'd known, but he's sure there are more, people who might not expect her to vanish.]
Dizzy is gone. Back to our world...
[Not as important to the bubble, perhaps, as Zelda's disappearance, but he feels it more. He's not going to acknowledge that fact if he can't, though, not any more than he's already had to.
Which is why he's moving on.]
Has anyone ever done a survey of the different types of fighting that everyone here knows? It seems like we probably have a lot to teach each other, and I, for one, would be happy to learn something a little different. I currently use a sword and lightning magic, and while I can't teach the magic to those who don't have it, I've found that simply sparring against people from different schools of training has helped me to adapt my own technique.
But there's some things I can't learn simply by fighting, but things that might be nonetheless useful in the context of some battles, like firearms.
Perhaps if people could simply talk some about how battles go on their world, I'll be able to better determine strategy that should be used for the Defense Force.
And I wouldn't be opposed to learning something new, if anyone's in the mood to teach.
[A slight, and formal, smile.
See how carefully he's focusing on duty, on earnestness, instead of anything else? This is what he wants to be doing, how he wants to cope.]

[ She pauses to think if she should say something about this 'Dizzy', and then decides not to as Ky has already moved onto another topic. ]
I have been asking more about varying types of magic or abilities rather than fighting styles. People who can use the elements or something similar. [ Saber tilts her head slightly. ] I am confident in my ability, but magic has always made me weary.
( video )
[ A half smile, still just polite. ]
Certainly someone who has magic is more effective as a fighter as that same person would be without magic, but I have seen talented swordsmen who can challenge people who rely too much on their powers, who are more effective because they've learned to be.
Everything can be compensated for.

You wish to be taught? Well then, allow me to educate you.
I choose to address your definition of sparring as 'fighting'. The belief that the human body undergoes the same ordeal between practice and skirmish is a dangerous misconception. Would you attack your brother with the intent to kill? Perhaps not, but then how on earth is it good practice for your Defense Force?
In short; sparring is only a bare indication of what can happen in reality. Your efforts may be more rewarding if focused on your members, rather than surveying the general populace.
[ video ]
[And there are certainly times that Ky's been emotionally fired up enough to go after Sol with the intent to fight him at least to unconsciousness -- only to be batted down. And he's fought plenty of Gears, knows how it's different.]
Learning control can help in a real fight, instead of hurting.
If I didn't survey the general populace, I wouldn't be able to have conversations like this one with you.

[ Guns don't exist in his world, after all. ]

It's a projectile weapon. Like a bow and arrow, except that the arrow is smaller and faster. I believe.

You don't know how to use a bow and arrow? It seems like the kind of thing you'd do well with.
And if you ever want to learn how to use a gun, I'd be happy to teach you.
Video
The same goes for a gun, but the situation is often different here.

Man, if that's what it's like where you're from, then I'm sorry.
[Not that there wasn't a lot of fighting, it was just kept to certain groups of people like the army or him and his friends.]
Anyway, the kinds of wars people back home get into are usually long and bloody cause they use guns and tanks and bombs. It's so bad that starting another world war really isn't that hard.
[It's harder to stop than start, as they'd found out. Hopefully that would die down now, though. There's more, but he's hesitating.]
Back in the Bronx, street gangs would often fight with their fists or maybe even knives. Though, that was when I was there, so I guess they might've moved on to guns and crap too.
Personally...well, that's a little different. It's complicated.
[Of course, he'd just mentioned magic which didn't exist, so how crazy would Jet really sound talking about cyborgs?]
Video
Perhaps that's my own experience getting in the way. Certainly there were plenty of civilians, even when the Crusades were at their worst.
[They just weren't safe even as civilians.]
But I was a Knight, and am now a police Captain, so battles have been part of my life for a long time.
[Big words from someone who's 24, but 15 years is still a significant amount of time, and Ky's been a soldier for 10.]
Guns and tanks became obsolete on my world.

I think its useful to know how to use a bunch of different tools in a fight. You can trump your opponent if you have a weapon that's better against theirs than theirs is against you, like a heavy hammer thar can smash through a shield. Mixing attack magic with physical fighting also works really good, especially if it goes off close by like Din's fire.
[He's just not going to mention that these were things he learned because Link used them on him.]
voice
Do you find learning many different weapons to be preferable to becoming an expert in just one of them? You can't always pinpoint an opponent's weakness, surely?
[Of course, that's also why you have an army, with fighters of various concentrations.]

People use whatever weapons they feel comfortable with. Some just use their fists. I prefer to use a Fusion Sword. It's six swords that can be assembled into multiple shapes and sizes, including one large sword that's good against powerful enemies. Especially if someone summons a creature.
[ It also reminds him of the Buster Sword that Zack left him, which is just as important. But not something he'll mention out loud, of course. ]
We also use materia for magic back home. Which allows for longer distance attacks.
[ Aaaand that might be the most he's said to anyone since he arrived here. He'll just go back to being quiet now. ]

How was your Fusion Sword made?
[Not that Ky has any idea about the Jinki.]

Battles in my world are... Quite interesting. At least they are for myself and those from my world.
[Voice]
Or simply differently than how you've learned people here do it?

She's a good friend. She'll be missed.
[Serph tends not to speak too much of battles in his original worlds unless asked; they tended to be bloody, messy affairs. But he can talk combat strategy, even though that is usually Gale's area of expertise.]
Before our demons, combat was mostly long range using firearms, using the environment as cover to protect ourselves. With our demons, combat became close to mid range, as we gained strength, magic, and, for most of us, resistance to bullets.
If you wish to learn to use a firearm, I don't mind teaching.
[Though he understands if Ky does not want to.]
voice
[Not a yes, but it's not a no either.]
Teaching me wouldn't cause your demon...anxiety?
[He'd prefer to think this through first.]
