Day 65 - [Video]

[Although the feed starts off in audio-only for a couple seconds before he decides he's up for video, Roxas doesn't look any different.]

Hey, Axel, Xion.. Hayner... Well, everybody...

I know some people are freaking out, but I hope you guys aren't so bad off. 'cause, um, I kind of want your help figuring some stuff out.

Wonder how long it'll last.

[Just a small smile and a nod.]

I dunno... You've been here longer-- how long do these things usually last?

Couple of days? A week or two? Like I can say for sure. [He's been keeping a log about it and tallying up the days, but he hasn't found an average yet. It's frustrating.]

...Heh. Well, at least you got the longer end of the stick this time around, buddy.

It's just- too bad you didn't get one, too.

[He wonders if Axel's jealous...]

Um, do you mind if I come over though?

[...He doesn't respond to that first comment.]

You always wanna come over. How 'bout I go to you this time?

[Another visitor today? He really is gonna have to start cleaning his place.]

That's fine. It'll be faster anyway since- I'd have to walk.

I figured as much. [He's a jerk, but not that much of a jerk. So Axel stands up from where he is and summons a Corridor quickly.]

Don't bother getting all dolled up for me; I'm not picky about appearances anyway, Roxas.

"Dolled up"?

[Roxas quirks an eyebrow and just gets up to head towards where the other end of that portal's showing up.]

[He doesn't bother responding through the SFC and instead speaks as he heads down the Corridor, his voice echoing.]

You know. Dressing up, cleaning up--That sort of thing.

...why would I do that for you anyway?

[He's pretty sure friends aren't supposed to care if you're a slob. Not that Roxas has bad hygiene here.]

[He shrugs as he steps out of the Darkness.]

Because maybe you just feel like it?

[It's a stupid reason, but Axel's not up for coming up with something more creative. He banishes the Corridor with a wave over his shoulder.]

What's up, short stuff? You rang?

[Hi, Axel. Were you expecting to be hugged once you got here? Probably not, but that's what's happening. Just a quick hug, but certainly more than what Roxas normally goes for.]

Well, I did feel like seeing a weirdo, I guess.

[...No, he was not, Roxas, but that's ok. He'll just stare at you for a second. After that flower monkey shine business, this is hardly anything.]

Says a lot about you, man. [He scoffs and playfully pushes at Roxas' shoulder.]

[He looks momentarily sheepish about the hug, but it soon eases into a real smile, and he pushes Axel back.]

Like what? Normal gets boring sometimes.

[He ruffles up Roxas' hair a bit. It's nice to see his best friend right now, especially since back home he hadn't been expecting to see him at all again.]

Well, it says that you're weird. [He snickers.]

[No, not the hair! Roxas... ruffles it back to how it apparently should be. It's difficult to tell much difference.]

...not as weird as you.

[Yes, the hair. The hair that just never gets messed up anyway.]

I'm ok with that.

[He chuckles and then stretches a little bit. Boy, what a long sleep that was.]

[Who's in and out of sleep comas now? He gives Axel a bit of a thoughtful look, and then, well... He told Sora he'd ask, but he keeps forgetting to bring it up.]

You know... I could keep an eye on you easier if we just lived together anyway.

[Is it weird to suggest that? It feels a little weird. And yet it'd seemed like the most obvious thing ever to Sora.]

[That makes his eyes widen slightly, not because he's offended or anything about the idea of Roxas keeping an eye on him, but because he didn't think that Roxas would ask something like that.]

It's not like I need special attention or anything.

[He rubs his neck before adding quickly,]

Not saying that I wouldn't want to, you know.

Well, you wouldn't want someone- drawing on your face or something while you were out. [...because Roxas would never do this. Of course not.]

...so, does that mean you do want to?

[Well, yeah, there's that drawing on his face bit, sure, but more recently he's been feeling more and more disconnected from his Other and Demyx. It's like he just doesn't fit in that house right now. Axel lowers his arm and then cracks a smirk.]

I said I'm cool with it, didn't I?

[Scoff] Get with the program, Roxas.

Hey, you didn't look so sure.

[But he's smiling now because- looks like Sora was right, Axel doesn't mind.]

Well, that's because I'm a weirdo, remember?

[He glances off to the side for a beat. Yeah, of course he doesn't mind. It's just--No. No, he's not supposed to have doubts like that.]

[Roxas misses any doubt that might be showing on Axel's face as he's glancing around the room.]

So- your place or mine?

[Come to think of it, he doesn't actually know if Axel's living with anyone. He's seen and talked to Demyx, of course, but never at home.]

[...That sounds odd, Roxas.]

Well, I live with Demyx and my Other right now, so I'm pretty sure that unless you wanna camp out on the floor over there, then we'd have to stick with your place.
