003 // Tortoise Beats Hare \\ Video

[The feed turns on to show a rather focused looking bunny. He has his little pink tongue stuck out as he concentrates on moving the camera around. The feed shifts slowly as he fixes the angle to show a close up of his thought bubble.

Bugs is pretty used to these so while the feed isn't on him he relaxes and stares up at the bubble.

Inside is a smaller version of Bugs in a large white room. After a moment the smaller rabbit pulls out a sign. "Ready when you are, doc." He looks annoyed.]

Alrigh' Vatee-on. Dis whole bubble ting is makin' everyone gloomy. An' considerin' we are in a tropical paradise, dat don't fit da settin'.

[The Bubble Bugs rolls his eyes and taps his foot, looking down at where his real counter part is off screen. Another glance up at the 'camera' and another sign pops out "I promise folks. It's a short intro."]

Yeah, yeah. Anyways. I figured I'd use dis ting to show you dat thought bubbles ain't so bad once you get the hang of it. So.]

[The sound in the bubble kicks in and the Bubble Bugs clears his throat before jumping up and pulling down a movie screen. Then this starts to play. Complete with credits. When it ends the screen rolls up and Bubble Bugs grins.]

"And dat's the end."

[The camera shifts to normal Bugs laying comfortably on the ground. He shrugs.]

Good night Folks.

[And shuts off the feed]

[video] deja vu bubbles

*Selphie's slumped on her bed and there's a bubble beside her - no words, just a little cartoon drawing of Selphie giving a big sigh. But instead of being coloured as normal, the image is just blue. She's a real emotion hider - everything hidden behind a big smile and a bright voice, and this curse has hit her again. Of course it would.

Real Selphie is smiling, but the image in the bubble remains the same. She glances at it, and her expression becomes more thoughtful*

These bubbles... Everyone gets so sad and so scared...

It's just so stupid.

_{[Holmes hasn't been seen since the curse; that's because he's been ferreting around the apartments, staying on the down-low and finding himself some bases of operation. he's also been exploiting the "nothing really costs anything" bonus, and that will be evident when the video flickers on and shows him in a messy and half-Victorian style apartment (in the Larmline building, for the eagle-eyed). there are books everywhere, and papers, and clothing, tossed about and stacked and basically making the room look as if it's been occupied for over a year. it's a little dark in the apartment, and someone who cares to look past Holmes will notice that a great deal of the large windows have their curtains pulled over.

the man himself looks clean, though somewhat rumpled: his hair is everywhere, and seems as if it had a hand quickly run through it, and he's half-dressed by way of Victorian standards (black trousers, white shirt partially unbuttoned, black suspenders on). he looks as if he hasn't slept for a day or so, because he hasn't. he has a nice, slim pipe in his mouth, and as the video comes on, he leans away from it, snatching the pipe out from between his teeth.]}

Ahh.. Yes, I think that will do nicely.

_{[he clears his throat and perches on the arm of a chair directly behind him, staring into the camera with a half-smirk on his face.]}

It was, at first, no small feat to discover how this little device I found mysteriously within my possession worked; after much testing, I think I know it entirely, and I've only spent a few hours running tests. A curious little item, but not without its fascinations. Three modes of communication are available to me in ways I have never more than considered on a particularly outlandish fancy. It should prove most useful in the days to come.

_{[he leans back, crossing his legs, one foot perched on the opposite knee, and crosses his arms, pipe still in hand.]}

_{[he pauses, not sure what else to say; he has never been this desperate before, so this is new territory for him. his pipe taps slightly on his knee as he thinks, staring at the camera, otherwise unmoving. then, suddenly, it comes to him, and his entire face lights up.]}

-and do be so kind as to only bring interesting problems? Trifles can only interest me so far.

_{[he sticks his pipe in his mouth, and a faint sucking of air can be heard, but by now it's gone out, and he takes it out again.]

[Zelda had waited for an entire day for one of the trolls to post a general warning for the populace before realizing that Signless was currently unconscious and Dolorosa was no longer in Vatheon. It was likely that the other trolls were too caught up in planning a defense to remember to warn everyone, she decided. Far be it from her to leave people uninformed. Zelda will simply take care of it herself.]

Hello, Vatheon. One of the new arrivals this cycle is extremely dangerous and capable of inflicting a sort of mental attack on those that stand against him, bringing their fears to life. He is very unstable. I am speaking about the Grand Highblood, the one who posted a video just yesterday saying "I can see you".

[No, she won't add the "motherfucking".]

I have not experienced his powers personally, but I was warned against engaging him very strongly the last time he was present. I now pass this warning along to anyone who was not aware. Be very cautious if you choose to do so anyway.

[For a few seconds the SFC is only showing...dirt? Yeap! Dirt! After a second or two though there is suddenly bright line and when your vision clears it's a nice view of the park. There's the sound of something crunching off screen before the SFC is turned around to show a rather annoyed looking bunny.]

Alright.

Da gag was funny the first few days but I got a picture to make and Leon ain't gonna be happy if I miss my cues.

[The SFC is balanced somehow and Bugs pulls out a rather large road map and begins to look at it, ignoring the fact that the SFC is still recording.]

Well...I guess I could take da fork back in Walla Walla...den straight down to Cucamonga. Den just wait for dat train ta Aneheim...

[The feed will eventually time out; after a few carrots and sly glances towards the camera.]

Video: Organization

Hello, Vatheon. I apologize for the sudden announcement; especially since there are likely many newcomers around at the moment, but I ask you all to bear with me. There is reason to believe that there may be something dangerous happening in the city sometime soon. This post is for organizational purposes. I would ask that all speculation and general information still be directed to this post.

Firstly, all of you that are comfortable with your combat skills, I urge you to report to Minato Arisato of the defense force. A disorganized defense is extremely ineffective. Those of you who feel that they cannot fight, please evacuate to the area around the clinic in the event of an attack.

[Zelda holds up a neatly drawn map with optimal routes to the clinic laid out from various locations in Vatheon.]

The clinic and the building right next to it will both have a protective barrier around them. Everyone currently registered as being a foreigner will have no difficulty passing. Do not worry overly much about the registration process, it is automatic. The barrier is of a neutral element and will not cause harm to anyone who takes shelter within it.

Which brings us to the second point. Anyone who considers their primary skill to be either healing - magical or traditional - or barrier magic, please report to myself or Doctor Muraki. I may need help maintaining the barrier, and we are low on healers.

Finally, anyone who considers themselves to be skilled with technology and who has some free time, please contact me privately.

[Wow, Darkleer is actually communicating with the network on a whole for once instead of being a miserable hermit. Must be a special occasion. Does anyone know his wiggling day?]

Now then. Have we all cleansed ourselves of the mess and done whatever strange death rituals foreign species feel the need to do?

[Okay, maybe it is just Darkleer being a coldhearted dick. Eh.]

I believe we should focus on the more important matter here. I have seen discussions scattered throughout the network, but it would be best to have all our thoughts and speculations focused in one place on both the destruction of those so-called faeries and on the recent appearance of that Carol individual.

For those of you who are oblivious and prone to missing the obvious, things are changing in this place. It would be best to be prepared.

[Don't be fooled, he's not doing this to be nice. He's doing what any troll knows to do: looking out for himself and the few he cares about. If that means even faintly working with others, well, he'll learn to deal.]

[When the SFC turns on, things are a little different. It's a different face than usual, a tired, annoyed face, and the caller ID simply reads 'Carol'.

She adjusts her glasses, stares into the screen, and breathes out an aggravated sigh.]

Hey...what do you call yourselves? Vatheonites or something?

I've got a question for you all, since you're already trying your best to ruin everything we're working on. Have any of you seen that priestess around? ...Thalassino, right?

I want to talk to her, so...let me know.

[Another huff and she rolls her eyes, muttering something before she turns off the device--]

A coupla credits isn't worth all of this hassle.

Thirty-Fourth Flare - Video - Birds, Birds, Everywhere

So yeah, turns out Myde was pregnant.

[Way to open up a feed, Lea. But he's grinning into the camera, hair tied back and in a too large t-shirt and pants. He's also covered in soft downy feathers of all sorts of colors; it isn't easy calming down the flock when they're so excitable. As he adjusts the camera, it's obvious he's near some rather simple looking stables. Anyone who's worked or visited the Phoenix Nest would recognize them as being behind there.]

[When he's done fiddling with the view, the camera is focused on a group of Chocobos. There's Myde, one of the adults and a beautiful soft brown with specks of white on her chest, looking tired but calmly pleased. Hovering near her is Alex, a bright red who couldn't look more proud as he nuzzles Myde.]

[And around them?]

Yep, looks like the second generation of Vatheon-born Chocochicks are here! Heh, aren't they adorable? And new colors, too, look!

[Lea looks just as proud as Alex as he sits down amongst the chirping, energetic chicks. There are seven in all, and they happily flop and flutter onto the teen. There are a few very pale gray chicks, and another couple which are a much darker shade, a strange kind of lavender-gray. There are a pair of soft colored yellows and one lone red. Lea handles all of them carefully and with utter adoration.]

I'll cut everyone the same deal Stein did whenever his chocobos laid eggs. If you think you can give one of these sweethearts a good home, and you can tell me so, I'll let you keep one. Myde and Alex won't mind.

Mistreat them and I will wreck your life.

[He says it with a cheery grin that is 100% brutal honesty.]
