| [Mitsuhide has set up the SFC so it will show him without him having to hold it. Perhaps it is on the desk in his room? Regardless, after turning the feed on, Mitsuhide sits upon the edge of his bed and picks up the shamisen there. The blue-and-gold instrument bears the scars of damage and battle, but it beautiful nonetheless. He does not play it, merely holding it still in his hands.]
[When he speaks, he sounds... distant?]
Some shadows can never fade. Some are inscribed on the heart... I can hear my Lord's laughter and feel Hideyoshi's hatred at any time. They do not go away. Time cannot erase all things, only make them a little easier to bear.
[Mitsuhide looks a little confused for a moment. It is likely not obvious why, but the Lord he referred to was, in fact, his Lord no more. Had not been for quite some time now. He shakes his head after a few seconds of slence, and continues.]
There was a time where I could not even speak in this way without those shadows overwhelming me. Time has given me the crutch I need to support myself. Most days, anyway. Sometimes, I need a strong hand and a bright smile to help me up.
[He smiles a fraction at that, and strokes a hand along the neck of his shamisen. The samurai actually means two specific people there.]
Vatheon has given that hand and that smile to me. Even if I cannot keep them forever, I... owe this place much. Even with its darker sides and sometimes trying nature.
[Anddddd... that's it. Mitsuhide pauses for a few moments, as if there is something else he wants to say, but decides against it and turns the feed off.] | |
